12 SHARK
Yes! At #12 is the deadly and ferocious
shark, this deadly predator is the inspiration for countless movies, although it’s
at the top of the food chain, it kills very few humans per year with less than
1 person killed each year in the US! Probably because not a lot of people dive
in with these deadly animals.
11 RATTLESNAKES
Another deadly animal you would expect
to be closer to #1, this reptile is very dangerous as we all know, one bite is
enough to kill a grown human in less
than an hour if not treated. This snake kills an average of 5.5 people in the
U.S., which in my opinion, isn’t a lot,
considering how common it is to find a rattlesnake while camping/hiking, maybe the number of deaths is so low, because
these snakes make sound if you get too close and won’t attack unless provoked
or threatened
(still, keep your distance!).
10 SPIDERS
Not every
spider of course, only the venomous ones, and unless you have an allergic
reaction to spider bites, live deep in the rain forest, or work with these
animals, you are not likely to be killed by a spider, which makes sense why
only 6.5 people die in the U.S. each year.
9 HORSES
Yes,
horses. Believe it or not you have a higher chance of dying from a horse, than
to die from a shark, snake and a spider combined! With an average of 20 people
dying from horse related accidents per year, this animal doesn’t kill you by biting
you, but maybe a kick would be enough, or a horse riding accident.
8 COWS
People
sometimes stand behind cows and some cows treat this unkindly, a kick in the
head, unfortunately, is enough to kill a human. 22 people die every year from
cows.
7
JELLYFISH
These beautiful water creatures look like
something from another planet, with about 20-40 people dying every year from the anaphylaxis caused by the stings.
6
ANTS
Not
the ants we find crawling on our desk, but the ones from the outside world,
like the ones from Africa, one species known as the “fire ants” are known to
cause as much pain as being shot from a 9mm bullet! (according to some people).
One ant alone won’t kill you, but ants are commonly found in colonies, those
stings add up! 20-50 people die in Africa alone each year by these tiny
creatures.
5
DOGS
I
love dogs, dogs are man’s best friend but sometimes these animals are provoked,
or some dogs are mentally traumatized from years of abuse from a variety of
reasons. 30-35 die every year in the U.S. from dog attacks.
4
BEES
Not
everybody loves bees, if you have ever been stung you know how much it hurts,
although not dangerous (unless you are allergic, in that case, rush to the
hospital!) if you get stung by 1,but you better NOT disturb a bee hive, if you
do and think it’s fun, think twice, if you anger them enough, even if you run,
they will outrun you and not get tired, as a honey bee can travel al 15mph,
even if you dive under water they will wait on the surface until you emerge.
They kill an average of 53 people in the U.S alone.
3
DEER
Yes,
a deer can kill you, we most commonly look at deer as the prey and NOT the
predator, true they will most likely run away when they see you, but it’s not
the deer coming after you and stomping you that will kill you, but mostly from
car related accidents, unless you have a truck, if you hit a deer with a car,
the deer will smash into your windshield and the windshield itself will not be
enough to stop a 350lb animal to kill the person behind it. Deer kill up to 130
people a year in the U.S.
2
HIPPOS
These
3,300Lbs mammals are extremely territorial and will attack when they sense
anyone invading their space, female hippos are even more aggressive when
defending their offspring, they also have huge 20 inch canines and can spread
their mouth widely .These beasts are responsible for 2,900 deaths per year in
Africa.
1
MOSQUITOES
Quite
predictable that this animal will be in #1, these insects kill but not in a way
that most animals kill, they infect and spread malaria which is a deadly
disease in Africa, this is such a serious problem, that people have mosquito
nets to protect themselves, an astonishing 655,000 people die in Africa each
year.
